Lead Physiotherapist Dave Baxter has a unique background in physiotherapy making him the ideal choice to treat a range of musculoskeletal problems.
Dave qualified as a Chartered Physiotherapist from the University of East London in 2000 before he went on to work at the Leeds Teaching Hospitals. Dave initially worked his general rotations before gaining a senior role specialising in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy. After working in a number of departments including post-surgical rehab, orthopaedics and GP referrals Dave took up a full time post at BUPA Hospital Leeds (which later became Spire) in 2004. In his role as a Specialist Physiotherapist Dave worked closely with a number of leading orthopaedic surgeons and neurosurgeons treating a broad variety of conditions. Dave then went on to work in Occupational Health and Ergonomics providing specialist ergonomic assessments to major employers in the Yorkshire and Humberside region as well as in house physiotherapy and fit to work assessments to local industry, councils and the NHS.
Dave has extensive experience in treating sporting injuries having worked in elite level rugby and womens football as well as with golfers, marathon runners, cyclists and power lifters to name a few. In January 2012 Dave finally fulfilled his dream of having his own Physio practice when he opened Tadcaster Physio & Sports Injuries Clinic.
Dave has a specialist interest in running injuries and their management and is himself a fanatical runner having thrown himself into the sport himself with a scientific eye. Dave has a keen interest in training errors, strength and conditioning as well as performing regular gait analysis on the clinic treadmill.
