Hand Therapy

Quite correctly Hand and Wrist injuries have their own specialism and subsequently their own specialist. We are fortunate to have a fantastic Hand Therapist in Liane Williams, with decades of experience in working in (and running) a world renowned specialist upper limb unit. Hand and upper limb therapy is the non-surgical management of disorders and injuries involving the upper limb using physical methods including exercise and splinting. It is crucial in the recovery from injury and /or surgery and in the management of acquired pathologies e.g. Osteoarthritis. 

Some common conditions seen are

• Trigger finger
• Tendinopathies
• Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
• Arthritis of the wrist, fingers or thumb joints
• Dupuytren’s disease
• Finger sprains commonly from sport
• Fractures involving the arm, wrist or fingers.
